That “All Powerful Hand” and a Very Unexpected Website Launch

Wow! It has been quite the week.

If you’ve ever seen a door that shines like a mirror, chances are I was the one still polishing it five minutes after the guests arrived. Dave calls it “polishing the brass door” — that moment when it’s already shiny enough, but I just can’t help myself from adding one more tweak. Well… that’s exactly what happened with our new website.

We’ve been quietly (and busily) working behind the scenes on a new and improved version of MasonicFamilyGifts.com for months. We even recruited some wonderful testers who clicked every link, peeked at every badge, and gave fantastic feedback. But I still wasn’t quite ready to launch.

Then, our old website host bit the dust. Just… poof. Gone.

My first reaction was sheer panic: “Oh no! I’m not ready!” But after a few deep breaths (and maybe a few chocolate chips straight from the bag), Dave and I looked at each other and realized: this might just be a blessing in disguise.

Sometimes, we think about that “all powerful hand that leads us on our way” only during the big life moments. But this week was a reminder that He’s also guiding us in the small things — even when it comes to website crashes and unexpected launches.

This little digital disaster nudged us forward. It reminded us to trust the process and lean into faith rather than fear. And it gave us a beautiful reminder of how wonderful you — our Masonic Family Friends — truly are. Your support, patience, and kind messages have meant the world.

So yes, the new site is live (ready or not!). It’s a little shinier than the last one, a lot easier to navigate, and full of the Masonic and Eastern Star treasures you’ve come to expect from us.

And if you notice a few spots that still need polishing? Just know I’m probably already on it. 😉
